Decoding Duffey's barks...

Duffey is becoming increasingly fond of his master and affectionate too... so affable that when he barks we can decipher the reason for its bark.. Sometimes a whimper, sometimes a giggle, and at other times a gruffy bark, when he's happy, a solemn bark et al..

Now, he has got accustomed to getting inside the car all by himself without much ado, and yesterday i bought for him a special baby tub in which he's now started freaking out like anything...

A book which i find really useful to train Duffey...!

Duffey's Favourite Friends...!

Duffey has now grown up a bit, just a little bit, but still the same sweet little one that he is, for us, and now he has become very accommodative towards his favourite new found friends.. the big 3 C's - cats, crows and cockroaches. Even if a cat sneaks its way into his bowl and drinks the milk kept for him, he doesnt bother at all...With an air of satisfied resignation he lets his feline friend take the 'honours.' Neither does he seem to bother even if cockroaches cross its way...

Daily in the morning, he says good morning to two of his new friends... Kalia the crow, and Katie the Cat... to name a few... These two have become a big hit with him that he would never even responds to its master's voice at times, when its friends are around, much to my consternation.

When i ask him gently, 'why dont u respond to my call when ur friends are around?' Duffey replies in a very calm, cool and collected yet husky voice, in his own inimitable style "A friend in need is a friend indeed"!

Indeed i guess what he says is certainly right...! And i cant agree with him more on this point.! :-)

Duffey's Cute barkings... when I leave him @ home...!

Duffey now has now learnt a novel way of barking up. Whenever I go out for my morning walks, he puts his head out of the gate in the verandah, and yells in a childish bark, yells and yells, and no amount of bones or vanity sticks can do the trick of pacifying him.

So then I return and give him Cerelac in a bowl mixed with bread, which he so relishes unmindful of what's happening around. This little time I take to sneak out.

With Duffey around, learning tricks has become a necessity indeed...!

No Stoppin' Duffey...! The First Week summed up..!

It seems like Duffey was born for the Snowy regions.. would have been better if I had named him Snowy... n rightly so, Tintin being one of my fav). Whenever I take a drive down to the City, I take Duffey along, and he stays put only when the a/c is turned on.. Or else, its Chaos all the way.. He jumps to my lap, touches the steering, and makes one hell of a naughty mess...!

Day - 2, Duffey comes up with a few tricks up his little sleeve...!

Today, being day 2, I didnt expect Duffey to have a few tricks up his little sleeve... or whatever..! He was all joyous, like the birds of spring, and making merry with the sandals on my feet, and taking it, rushed to the store room, and got itself seated majestically and victoriously, as if he had defeated the Trojans high on the windy plains of Troy.

Now, i poured a lot of water for him onto the floor, since he exhibited a passion to play, and there he was, enjoying himself, in the water, the doctor's shot in the vertebral part not withstanding...!

And then, he slept for just a little while, and again play restarted.

Now, it was the turn of his bowl to bear the brunt. It was tossed to and fro, in the melee!

A Drive Down Velacherry Road with Duffey...! DAY - 1

Around eleven thirty this morning, went to our Dog Breeder and got possession of our sweet little labrador. He was eyes closed, sleeping soundly underneath a cool and cozy sofa. I laid him in the side seat of our car, turned on the a/c and there he was enjoying himself, sound asleep in minutes.

Right from the car, gave a call to mom who was at home, saying, 'Mommy, the little one is travelling now,with me at the wheel' said I.

Mom was there waiting near the main gate of our house, to welcome the little one, and no sooner did mom see him, than she warmly embraced him, and in no time developed a great fascination for the little one.

I had brought along Cerelac with me, as well as a good feeding bottle, and this was enough for him, and the maid servant too helped mom out eagerly.

Evening, after handling my classes to a dynamic class, came back with Dany sir, and took Duffey along to see our Vet.

The vet gave him vaccination and deworming, and asked me to take Duffey again in fifteen days.

He gave a lot of advice on food and dieting for him.

The first day, today, Duffey always went near the bathroom to lie there. Then, he took a fascination for my slippers and was busy biting it, with his tender teeth.

He urinated a couple of times, but he wouldnt rest on the lap for a minute, cos he was busy exploring his territory today.

I bought for him a good collar, a black one, which suits him well.

And Duffey is now snoring in his little bed, specially made up for him.
